Dani Alves throws shade at Bartomeu as he talks about his exit from 2016

"I knew I would go back to Barca after some people left. I decided to leave Barcelona earlier because I didn't want to be kicked out of the team," Dani Alves said during his presentation.

Here the Brazilian is likely speaking about Josep Maria Bartomeu and his board. It's said that Dani left Barca in 2016 because the former president wanted him out and had no plans of offering him a new contract.

"I came to Barca through the main door, and I wanted to leave through the main door too. A year after my departure, I offered myself back to Barca, but they refused.

"They told me 'no, you left and didn't fit our plans'. I said ok and I went to another club and worked hard with the hope that I would come back one day."

Needless to say that Alves had a successful career away from Camp Now between 2016 and 2021. He played for three different clubs and won nine trophies.

Dani has now signed with Barca until the end of the season.
