Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani both scored in Man United’s big 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
In doing so, they became the first United duo above the age of 34 to have combined for a Premier League goal in 11 years.
The last time two players above 34 combined for a PL goal for the Red Devils was in August 2010, when Paul Scholes set up a goal for Ryan Giggs against Newcastle United.
Cristiano and Cavani started their first game together up-front for United – but operated as natural partners to torment Spurs’ defenders.
With the 3-4-1-2 formation working wonders on Saturday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could use the experienced duo together more often going forward.
