Neymar has been ruled out of PSG's match against RB Leipzig.
After suffering an injury while on international duty with Brazil, Neymar has been ruled out of Paris Saint-match Germain's against RB Leipzig.
PSG had to make do without Neymar in their last Ligue 1 match against Angers on Friday, which coincided with his country's World Cup qualification match against Uruguay.
Fans expected him to return in time for Tuesday night's Champions League group stage match against Leipzig, but the French giants have announced he has returned to Parc des Princes with a slight knock.
"Neymar Jr has been suffering from adductor pain since his return from the national team and will have to extend a period of therapy for a few days before a normal return to the group," PSG said in an official statement on their website.
Argentina international Leandro Paredes will miss the match due to a quadriceps problem, while Sergio Ramos is close to returning to training after missing the first half of the season owing to a calf condition.
If Neymar's recuperation is hampered, he might be ruled out of the team's next Ligue 1 match against Marseille on October 24.
PSG will then take a five-day break before facing reigning champions Lille, by which time the Brazilian should be fully fit and back in Mauricio Pochettino's plans.
Neymar has only scored once in his first seven games for PSG this season in all competitions, raising more concerns when he acknowledged last week that the 2022 World Cup could be his last for Brazil as he struggles to cope with the mental strain of playing at the greatest level.
Neymar, on the other hand, followed up those remarks with scoring in the Selecao's 4-1 triumph over Uruguay, capping an excellent all-around performance.
PSG, on the other hand, are not likely to suffer against RB Leipzig, since Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi are both set to play.
