Good News: Dembele ready to sign Barca new contract on lower salary

The best news every Barcelona fan would like to read this weekend after so many rumours that the winger was on the verge of leaving Barcelona for Newcastle o a free transfer.

Ousmane Dembele will pen a new deal with Barcelona, credible Cadena SER report.

The Frenchman has agreed to reduce his wage. The 24-year-old earns a whopping €20m-per-year salary on his current deal.

Barca are in a different economic situation compared to 2017 when they paid €105m to sign Dembele from Dortmund.

The Catalans are now trying to reduce their wage expenditure and will try to convince other high-earners such as Umtiti and Coutinho to accept lower salaries.

Dembele current contract expires next June. His new deal will be made official in the next few weeks.

It was previously reported that the forward could leave Barca in January, with Newcastle and Liverpool keen on landing him.

Yet it looks like Ousmane will stay at Camp Nou.
