Foreigners to be limited to 49% and below of European club shares
European Parliament's Committee on Culture and Education is monitoring the controversial takeover of Newcastle United very closely.
According to Spanish outlet Partidazo Cope, a motion could be proposed in the future which would help avoid further ethics controversies in football.
The committee is looking to ban foreign investors from buying more than 49 per cent of the shares of the clubs of the European Union (not including the United Kingdom).
