Pjanic: 'Koeman didn't respect me. He was never talking to me'

"Koeman didn't respect me," Miralem Pjanic has told Marca in a big interview.

"I couldn't get used to the situation I faced last year. I knew I didn't want it. I'm a player. I love playing football, this is what makes me happy.

"I always loved the way Barca played. It's clear that their philosophy would suit me well. When I was at Barca, I watched them play and I knew this was what I had dreamt about.

"I always wanted to play for Barca but I didn't expect the situation to get so complicated. Little game time, Covid, loan... "

"Koeman was never talking to me. I'm a player who can accept everything but I would always like it to be explained to me… and not as if I was 15. I agreed to lower my salary and join Besiktas because I love playing football."

Pjanic has been loaned out to Besiktas but he's expected to come back to Barcelona next summer.

The experienced midfielder accumulated less than 1,300 minutes of play for Blaugrana last term.
