Luuk de Jong discuss Koeman's interest in him: 'He told me he wanted a forward with a new profile'
"I've always had a good relationship with Ronald Koeman, from the Dutch national team, and we talked a lot about tactics and other football things," Luuk de Jong has said, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
"For me, Koeman is a very good coach and he has confidence in me, in the qualities that I have. It is special to go to Barcelona and work with him again.
"He told me that he wanted a forward with a new profile and he knows about my qualities. In me, he has a different type of a striker than the ones that there were already at Barca."
Luuk is known to be a decent aerial threat, and that's perhaps the biggest difference between him and the other forwards at the club.
The 31-year-old joined the Catalans on loan from Sevilla on the last day of the summer transfer window. During his time in Seville, De Jong recorded 19 goals in 94 appearances.
