Dani Alves confirms he'll remain free agent until end of 2021
Ex-Barcelona and Juventus right-back Dani Alves has confirmed he'll remain a free agent until the end of the year but has stopped short of announcing retirement.
The 38-year-old left Sao Paulo a couple of weeks ago due to delays in the salary payment.
It's been reported in Brazil that the club owes Alves around $2 million.
In an Instagram post, Dani Alves announced: "I come here to tell you that I have chosen not to sign with any club for the rest of the year.
"I came to Brazil for a child's dream, and the dream was fulfilled. Winning the league with the boyhood club is priceless.
"Difficult decisions need to be made, but as usual nothing in my life has been easy. It's just another decision."
Dani Alves still hopes to play for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup, so we can expect him to find a new club at the start of the next year.
