Barcelona still believes that Koeman is the 'ideal coach' for the short-term
The sporting area at Barcelona are convinced that Ronald Koeman is the 'ideal coach' to lead the club in the near future, Diario Sport's reliable Lluis Miguelsanz reports.
Joan Laporta had doubts about the Dutchman's future after Barca's failed end of the season last term. However, other top officials like Rafael Yuste (vice-president), Mateu Alemany (director of football) and Ramon Planes (technical secretary) managed to change his opinion on the coach.
The three are satisfied with what Koeman has been able to achieve given the club's limited resources.
Moreover, Yuste is convinced that the 58-year-old is better than all the other options currently available on the market, and he suggested that Laporta keeps him.
The club expects that the 2021/22 season might prove to be a tough one since Barca lost Leo Messi.
Nevertheless, they are ready to offer him a contract extension, as previous reported, and think that Koeman should continue at Camp Nou for at least another year.
