Barcelona Pedri favourite to win this year Golden Boy award

The 40-man shortlist for the annual Golden Boy award, given to football's best player under the age of 21, has been revealed.

Two Barcelona players have made the list, Pedri and Eric Garcia.

Ex-Barca man Ilaix Moriba has also made the cut. Yusuf Demir misses out: he previously made the 60-man shortlist.

As per Diario Sport, Pedri is a favourite to win the award. His main competitors are Bukayo Saka, Mason Greenwood, Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham and Kaio Jorge.

Last year, Erling Haaland won the award.
