Barca set deadline for Dembele contract extension.
Barcelona want to extend the contract of Ousmane Dembele before January, Mundo Deportivo's reliable Ferran Martinez reports.
Since Frenchman's contract with the club expires at the end of the season, he would be free to sign a pre-agreement with other teams already in January.
The source adds that the meeting that took place on Monday between the two parties was a positive one. However, an agreement is still far away and the positions of the two sides are not close at the moment.
It's said that Barca value Ousmane and consider him 'a different' player, a pure winger. Joan Laporta has wanted to extend Dembele's contract since he was elected.
The 24-year-old appreciates the trust the club and the president have shown.
Dembouz is yet to play this season as he's been on the sidelines since undergoing surgery back in summer.
