'I'm the happiest kid in the world': Barca kid Gavi reacts to his debut
"I'm very happy, the happiest kid in the world. From my childhood I have been dreaming of making my debut for the first team, and at Camp Nou. And I've been able to achieve it," Gavi said after the game against Getafe.
"A thousand things went through my head. I was a bit nervous, of course. I tried to do my best and that's it.
"I'm thinking of all the people who have helped me. Family, friends, coaches, La Masia and especially Sergi Mila, a coach who has helped me a lot through my career. I'm going to keep the shirt and hang it in my room."
The game against Getafe became Gavi's first official appearance for Barcelona.
The 17-year-old replaced injured Sergi Roberto and got to play over 15 minutes. It was enough for him to register 15 passes, one long ball, and one interception. The La Masia youngster also won two fouls.
