Edinson Cavani to keep Manchester United no.7 shirt despite Ronaldo's arrival
Edinson Cavani will be keeping the no.7 shirt at Man United this season, as per club insider Jonathan Shrager.
There has been a lot of speculation around what will happen with the iconic jersey ever since Cristiano Ronaldo’s return was confirmed.
However, Premier League rules mean that players once registered into a squad cannot change their shirts unless they’re sold or the club gets special permission from the league.
The Red Devils are unlikely to be granted special permission and with Anthony Martial donning the no.9 shirt, Cristiano might have to play with a different shirt number for the first time in a long time.
Cavani will not be leaving Old Trafford this season and wishes to fulfill his contract until 2022.
