Bayern Players react to the clash against Barca in Champions League
Barcelona were drawn together with perennial rivals Bayern Munich in Group E of the UEFA Champions League revealed on Thursday.
While many Blaugrana do not fancy facing Bayern at this stage, members of the Bayern team have been reacting to the draw, as quoted by Sport.
“As a player, I always liked playing against the greats. Barca lost Messi and no one would've believed it to be possible," Bayern Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic was quoted.
"This is of course a different team without Messi, but they have good players. It's going to be a good duel," Salihamidzic.
Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich said: “It's a very ambitious group. Playing against Barça will be a great challenge, because they have many top-level players. We are looking forward to it, they will be two great games."
Thomas Muller also reacted: “We still have good memories of FC Barcelona from the 2020 quarter-finals. It was a great experience in Lisbon.
Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer added: "Barca continues to be very present for us since 2020, which will be a very difficult task even without Messi."
The last time Barcelona clashed against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, the Bavarians ran out 8-2 winners in a dismal night for the Blaugrana in Lisbon.
