Grealish could STAY at Aston Villa with Man United move in doubt, says agent
Jack Grealish's agent has cast doubt on a huge summer move to Manchester United, after admitting the Red Devils are not 'at the top of the list' of potential suitors for his client.
Super-agent Jonathan Barnett, who represents Grealish along with the likes of Gareth Bale, spoke out this week regarding the future of the Villa captain.
The 71-year-old conducted a remote interview with SNTV in which he admitted that Grealish could even yet remain with his boyhood club, despite growing interest in his services.
Barnett said: 'The truth is we don't know (what will happen). There are many clubs (interested) and I wouldn't put Manchester United at the top of that (list).
'But he could stay. He could stay as well so it's a conversation the club, Aston Villa, will have with Jack and ourselves then we'll see where we go.'
Grealish has been linked with both United and their rivals City, though transfer speculation has appeared to die down after the player endured an injury-hit 2021.
Grealish has been absent for Villa for several weeks with a shin problem, though is expected to be fit in time to play a starring role for England at this summer's dealyed European championships.
Barnett added: 'He loves Villa but I think we just have to wait and see how things pan out.
'At the moment he is a Villa player and he has no thoughts about anything else.
'He could be a big star in the summer, he maybe should have been playing a little bit earlier for England.
'It is unfortunate that he has got this injury at the moment but that will be fine.'
