Man United Have Been Forced To Land New No 9 This Summer
Manchester United could be forced into landing a new No 9 this summer amid uncertainty over Edinson Cavani’s future.
And the Red Devils’ preference appears to be a younger forward, instead of an already established superstar.
Cavani has been heavily linked with a move to Boca Juniors, while Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood have scored just five Premier League goals combined this term.
And according to Manchester Evening News, United’s preference is to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, instead of Harry Kane.
But the Red Devils may end up missing out on both of their preferred transfer targets for financial reasons.
Dortmund would demand a fee in the region of £100million to part ways with Haaland, though he has a release clause of £66m, that doesn’t kick in until next year.
And Tottenham would demand more than £150m for Kane.
What also complicates a potential move for Kane is United’s poor relationship with the club.
