Manchester City Dispatch Tottenham Extending 15 Match Unbeaten Run
Pep Guardiola’s men wrapped another three points in easy win over Tottenham.
The Cityzens in usual fashion dominated the first half and in the 23rd minute, City’s latest penalty taker Rodrigo, gave them the lead, for a foul on Gundogan by Højberg.
Tottenham came their closest in the 14th minute, through a beautiful free-kick from Harry Kane which struck the woodwork sadly.
After the first forty-five, Raheem Sterling threaded a pass to Ilkay Gundogan who fired his shot past the Spurs’ World Cup Winner, just five minutes after play resumed.
Ilkay Gundogan registered his second of the night on the 66th minute after he utilized an inch-perfect long ball by Ederson to give City a well-deserved victory.
City’s 11th straight win this season bolsters their spot at the top with 53 points and a win against Everton in mid-week will take them 10 points clear of their nearest contenders.
Jose Mourinho’s side currently lie ninth on 36 points and Gundogan’s double makes City’s title prospect more evident.
