Confirmed: Liverpool To Complete These Two Deals Today

Liverpool Complete Two Deals Today

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp needs at least one centre-back before the close of the transfer window.

And the Reds have snuck in ahead of Celtic to complete a deal of around £2million for Preston defender Ben Davies who now looks set to join Liverpool.

Liverpool are desperately short of defenders following the injuries suffered by Joel Matip and Fabinho last week.

The duo’s injuries have added to the long-term absences of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

So Davies, 25, is being brought in to become an immediate first-team contender.

But the defender is not the only player Klopp is eyeing before tonight’s 11pm transfer deadline.

Marseille star Duje Caleta-Car is being targeted by the Anfield side.

According to reports, Klopp wants a deal for the 24-year-old salvaged after it stalled on Sunday.

If both players sign for Liverpool then there is a good chance they will both line up together in the middle of the defence.

The arrival of two defenders would also help bolster Klopp’s options in midfield.

Having Caleta-Car and Davies at the back would allow Fabinho to slot into his more preferred role.
