Atalanta Set To Square off With Juventus in Coppa Italia Final
The Coppa Italia final clash between both teams is their first-ever meeting at this stage of the competition.
Surely, Juventus will head into the fixture as favourites as a result of their impressive 13 title wins out of 19 finals it has competed in.
The Nerazzurri on the other hand, have been to only three finals in its history, with their only title win coming in 1963.
Atalanta beat Torino 3-1 thanks to a hat-trick by striker Angelo Domenghini.
After Atalanta and Napoli played out a goalless draw in the first leg it was all up for grabs when the two were to meet in the Gewiss stadium.
Just 10 minutes into the second leg, Duvan Zapata gave Atalanta the lead from 25 yards out and he was subsequently involved in all three goals.
The striker eventually set up Matteo Pessina for his first of the night on the 16-minute mark.
A glimmer of hope dawned on the Napoli players, after Hirving Lozano poked home one goal after a fine team effort.
All lights were then shut out after Matteo Pessina scored his second of the night, cementing his side’s position in the Coppa Italia final.
Juve booked their spot in the final after beating Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate.
So, The Old lady awaits the Nerazzurri in the Coppa Italia final, currently scheduled for 19 May 2021.
