Carlo Ancelotti Makes Jordan Pickford’s No 1 Position Increasingly Uncertain
Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed his side’s interest in making Robin Olsen’s loan permanent in January in a deal which would leave Jordan Pickford’s position as No 1 increasingly uncertain.
Olsen, 30, has impressed Ancelotti since he signed a season-long deal from Roma in October.
‘We are pleased to have him here,’ Ancelotti said ahead of the clash with West Ham.
‘He is a goalkeeper with experience so I think we are going to talk with him and his agent to find a solution for him to be here permanently. It can be for January or in June.
‘The games that he played he did well. He was comfortable, he was calm, he was quiet. I think he gives good support to Jordan also.’
Ancelotti believes keeping Olsen can spur Pickford on to new heights – as well as add depth to his squad.
Everton will also look to add new faces in the January window.
