Video Shows Rohr Knew Pinnick Was Going To Sack Him This Year
Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr sent well wishes to his boss, the President of Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick on his 50th birthday yesterday.
The former Delta State FA Chairman and the German tactician have worked together since 2016.
But that ride has gotten bumpy of late, with many calling for the sack of Gernot Rohr after the former Gabon head coach recorded two disappointing draws against Sierra Leone in November.
Still, the ex-Bordeaux gaffer maintains that he has enjoyed every bit of his time working with Pinnick and hope they can win the 2022 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon and FIFA World Cup together.
“Happy birthday, president, it’s four and half years that we are together, and I hope that when it’s your birthday in December, you didn’t sack me yet (laugh),” the Franco-German coach said in a video shared on the Super Eagles Twitter handle.
“I hope that we go further and win this Afcon and possibly the world cup together.”
The Super Eagles will continue their Afcon qualifying series next year with games against Benin and Lesotho left to play in Group I.

A win in any of those two matches will see Nigeria book their spot at Cameroon 2022.
