Solskjaer Dealt Fixture Pile-Up Blow In January After Burnley Rearrangement
The Burnley fixture against Manchester United has now been confirmed to take place on Tuesday 12 January at 8.15pm by the Premier League.
And it means Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men may be stretched to the limits as they play at least twice a week until February.
This is because United are still involved in Carabao Cup action, with their semi-final against rivals Manchester City going ahead on Wednesday January 6.
They are also in FA Cup 3rd Round action three days after that when they host Championship side Watford.
And if they progress they will be due to play the next round before the end of the month.
Those games, along with the six Premier League matches in the calendar, means Solskjaer may be left with no choice but to heavily rotate his squad in the coming weeks.
City’s fixture against Aston Villa meanwhile has now been rescheduled to Wednesday January 20 at 8.15pm, and they will also play nine times in the month if they beat Birmingham in the FA Cup.
And at some point before the end of the season their game against Everton must also be squeezed in.
