Scott McTominay became the first player in Premier League history to score twice inside the first three minutes of a match, with his goals setting the tone for what was a remarkable game of football.
Bruno Fernandes, Victor Lindelof and Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper also found the back of the net in the first-half, with the score 4-1 at the break.
Further goals from Daniel James, Fernandes and Stuart Dallas saw the match end 6-2, with United moving into third place on goal difference.
McTominay was named man of the match and took to Instagram to celebrate the victory, posting a number of images from the game with the caption: “Big win !!!”
Fernandes, club captain Harry Maguire and West Ham star Declan Rice were among those to comment on the post, with Maguire simply writing “What a performance” and Rice adding “Different class today”.
Fernandes then came up with a new nickname for the midfielder in his comment, writing: “Football is really strange Well done scottynaldinho”.
To which McTominay replied: “oi we’ll be having words tomorrow me & you”.
