Real Madrid Dressing Room Make Stance Known On Zidane Sack
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is in danger of losing his job at the Bernabeu in the wake of the club’s 2-0 Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night.
Reports have suggested Real will axe Zidane if they fail to make the knockout stages of the competition for the first time in their history.
But according to Spanish newspaper Marca, the dressing room is behind the Frenchman, even if some of his recent decisions have surprised the squad.
It’s said Real players ‘didn’t understand’ his starting XI for the 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Valencia – and also have issues with some of his tactical decisions.
But they’re fully behind Zidane and don’t want him to go at the current moment in time.
Club president Florentino Perez has been backed to swoop for Mauricio Pochettino or Massimiliano Allegri if he wields the axe.
Zidane vowed not to resign on Tuesday, insisting he was still the right man to manage Los Blancos despite their recent issues.
