Liverpool Identify Mo Salah Replacement Amid Doubtful Future Interview
Mohamed Salah still has two-and-a-half years left on his Liverpool contract but refused to rule out a blockbuster transfer to Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future.
The Reds forward also admitted that he was unhappy with Jurgen Klopp’s decision to hand Trent Alexander-Arnold the captain’s armband over him in a recent Champions League clash.
With Jordan Henderson and James Milner both absent against FC Midtjylland, the Egyptian had hoped to be named skipper, only to be left disappointed.
He told AS: “Honestly, I was very disappointed. I was hoping to be the captain, but it’s a coach’s decision. I accept it.”
When pressed to give a more extensive answer, he added: “That’s a tough question, but right now I can say that everything is in the hands of the club.”
His former international teammate and close friend Mohamed Aboutrika added to that by hinting there was a number of reasons he was “unhappy”.
And according to Mirror Sport, the Reds are set to register their interest with Aston Villa for Jack Grealish in the upcoming window.
