Klopp provides fitness updates on Van Dijk and Matip
Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp has said that Virgil Van Dijk has a long way to go to recover and also added that Matip will be out for 3 weeks.
"Good but still a long way to go. He's making good progress but the facts are it will still take a lot of time," Klopp said about Van Dijk after the Newcastle game.
The Liverpool manager also added that centre-back Joel Matip will be missing for 3 weeks after his injury against West Brom.
This means Liverpool will have to start 2021 without a senior centre-back fit to play.
A signing in January is looking like more and more of a necessity for the Reds if they wish to continue to stay top of the league.
