Gareth Bale Wrecks Real Madrid Summer Transfer Plans For Mbappe And Haaland
Real Madrid are reportedly afraid that Gareth Bale stop-start loan spell at Tottenham could scupper their plans to make sensational swoops for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
Having not made a single signing over the summer, Zinedine Zidane is looking to break the bank once the 2020-21 season is over.
However, Real’s wage bill will need to be trimmed, with the Welshman currently earning an eye-watering £650,000-a-week.
It will be easier said than done to offload Bale though, with the 31-year-old flattering to deceive since returning to north London for a move that Zidane had hoped would revive his stagnating career and be turned into a permanent sale.
Bale has been unable to recreate the form that made him the talk of world football before a move to Los Blancos and is currently nursing a calf problem that saw him withdrawn at half-time in the team’s Carabao Cup quarter-final victory at Stoke, with Bale opening the scoring before being taken off.
