Chelsea Hunt For Another £27m Shot-Stopper Despite Mendy’s Performance
Chelsea signed Edouard Mendy from Rennes for £22m in the summer but are on the hunt for a £27m goalkeeper.
And the Senegalese international has not put a foot wrong, conceding just three goals in 12 appearances this season.
But according to Italian outlet Mundo Udinese, Frank Lampard’s side are not finished in their goalkeeper hunt yet.
And the search for a shot-stopper took the Premier League side to Udinese’ Juan Musso, who was valued at €30m [£27.1m].
With 71 appearances since arriving from Argentine side Racing and 23 clean sheets, the 26-year-old was seen as a good investment.
While the Blues looked elsewhere over the summer, the report states that the goalkeeper “will probably be sold at the end of the season” as his valuation is maintained.
Chelsea are still among the interested clubs alongside Inter Milan and PSG who have “tested the water” on Musso’s availability.
Mendy will face a big test when Leeds, who have had 153 shots on goal this season, visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
