Cadiz coach: 'We were lucky Dembele didn't start'
Alvaro Cervera says that Barca playing without a pure winger benefited his team and he was surprised that Koeman replaced Dest with Trincao as it narrowed the Catalans' game.
"We were lucky that Dembele didn't start and Koeman didn't use pure wingers," Diario Sport quote Cadiz coach Alvaro Cervera saying.
"I'm surprised he took off Sergino Dest. He's a very fast player who can go deep. And when he put on Francisco Trincao, we knew that they were going to be playing even more centrally.
"And on top of that, we saw an opportunity because we knew Trincao would not going to defend well on that side and put on someone fast who could do them damage. It helped us because when Barcelona get to the touchline, they are very dangerous.
"Coutinho starting wasn't a relief but for me, my way of seeing things, I liked Dembele more. He's one of the few who can get you to that touchline. Coutinho is not so much of an individual player and you can defend him as a team.
"Messi was more involved than on other occasions. I saw him trying to win the game. He came deeper, got the team to play. I don't think he played badly. In fact, the instructions that I gave had to do with Messi above all."
Barcelona lost to Cadiz away because of the individual mistakes from Oscar Mingueza and Clement Lenglet. Besides, the Catalans were poor in attack as they had a worse expected-goals score than the home side.
