Ajax’s Perr Schuurs opens up on Liverpool transfer link
Ajax defender Perr Schuurs, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool as a result of the Reds’ defensive injury crisis, has spoken out on the transfer speculation linking him, saying he’s not ready to leave the Johan Cruijff ArenA yet.
The Dutch defender played at Anfield on Tuesday night as Ajax were beaten 1-0 by Liverpool in their Champions League group game.
Schuurs would set Liverpool back around £27million, although the Reds are yet to confirm they are interested in signing Schuurs.
The 21-year-old, however, has addressed the speculation, but has played down leaving Holland just yet, saying he wants to gain more experience with Ajax first.
“I hear and read it [Liverpool rumours] too,” Schuurs told SBS6
“It’s my first season as a regular at Ajax. I want to play here for a few more seasons and win prizes. I’m not really working on that yet.”
