Pep Guardiola Speaks On Plans For Man City January Signings
Manchester City have ruled out using the January transfer window to sign new players despite their difficult start to the new Premier League season.
There have been suggestions the 2019 champions would be using the mid-season transfer window to bolster their squad, but these rumours have been dismissed by Pep Guardiola.
Asked if he wants to sign new players, the former Bayern Munich boss said: “No, not at all. I have a fantastic team to fight for all the titles,” Guardiola told Man City’s official website.
Guardiola is confident his squad has the depth needed to challenge for the silverware in the second half of the season.
“The guys who play good, they continue to play,” the Spaniard said. “The guys especially at the back who don’t make mistakes – everyone makes mistakes – but the [guys who don’t make] mistakes that cost a lot, they have more chance to continue in the team.
“And the guys up front who score goals, they have more chance to continue in the team.”
“I try to judge players in the present. John [Stones] played very well, and I am especially happy for John because he is a special guy for me. “
