Manchester City is seriously considering a January offer for Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
City attempted to sign Messi in the summer but was told by Barca to pay his buyout clause or forget about any deal.
According to The Sun, Pep Guardiola's team will test Barca's resolve again.
They know the Catalan giants will lose Messi on a free transfer if he does not renew his contract before the summer transfer window.
The 33-year-old was adamant about leaving but could change his mind due to the change in the presidency at the club.
The city believes they can lure Messi to the club and would be prepared to get him in January if the fee is reasonable.
Otherwise, they would secure him in the summer for free.
