Joan Laporta Confirms He’ll Run For Barcelona Presidency
Joan Laporta has confirmed he is in the race for the presidency of Barcelona in January.
The former Barcelona president, who served between 2003 and 2010, was one of the key figures in the club’s most successful period in their history, lead by Frank Rijkaard and later Pep Guardiola.
“I’m running for elections because I love the club,” Laporta said at his official announcement.
“We have the preparation, experience and determination necessary for the changes that the club need. We have a plan.
“The plan is to work. I want to unite all Barca fans. This is not the time to reproach or look back. In the Barca that we propose, everyone fits.
“Our plan is to bring back happiness to the people. It’s not a simple election promise. It’s an ethical, civic, moral, social and united commitment.”
El Chiringuito claim that Laporta promised that the Spanish club will complete two major transfers in the near future.
Laporta has a good relationship with Mino Raiola and he wants to exploit that relationship to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

The second name that has been linked with the Spanish lawyer is Bayern Munich defender David Alaba and his arrival seems to be a lot more realistic.
