Arteta Speaks Negatively About Aubameyang, Partey After Wolves Defeat
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has opened up on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thomas Partey after his side’s 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Sunday.
After Raul Jimenez was forced off with a nasty head injury following a collision with David Luiz, Pedro Neto gave the visitors the lead in the 27th minute.
Arsenal levelled through Gabriel Magalhaes but, in the end, were beaten courtesy of Daniel Podence’s first-half strike.
And, after the match, the Spaniard spoke worryingly on Aubameyang and Partey.
He admitted he found Aubameyang’s current form to be a major concern, with the Gabon international finding the net just two goals from 10 matches so far.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Arteta said: “I think we all are [worried] because the main goal scorer of the club at the moment isn’t scoring goals, so my biggest concern is how to help him more to score goals because we need his goals.
“He needs to be scoring goals if we want to be successful.”
Arteta bluntly replied ‘yes’ when asked if Partey’s injury was more serious than first thought.
And he then added: “I don’t know. I don’t think he will be with us in the next few games but still, we’ve been missing a lot of players.
