Barcelona manager Koeman explains decision to go all out in last minutes vs Madrid

Koeman says that Barca tried to turn the situation around with the players on the pitch at first.

The coach made four subs vs Real Madrid but it was perhaps too late for them to have an impact.

"When we were losing, we first tried to create goal opportunities with the players on the pitch. Then, with the changes, we looked for more presence and speed on the wings and playing 1 against 1. It's risky but it doesn't matter if you lose 1-2 or 1-3," Ronald Koeman has told BarcaTV after the Real Madrid match.

In the 81st minute, the coach subbed in Antoine Griezmann, Francisco Trincao and Ousmane Dembele for Ansu Fati, Pedri and Sergio Busquets.

Six minutes later, Koeman replaced Jordi Alba with Martin Braithwaite. Unfortunately, none of the subs managed to produce anything significant. Barcelona ended up losing 3-1.
