Smalling on the verge of completing permanent move to AS Roma after skipping Manchester United training
Chris Smalling is close to sealing a permanent move to AS Roma with negotiations in full flow for his exit, according to the Telegraph.
The Englishman has failed to report to Man United’s pre-season training sessions in recent days as he hopes a smooth resolution is met for his situation.
Roma are said to value Smalling at around £15m-£20m but are unwilling to meet United's demands of getting the fee upfront rather than on add-ons.
Smalling was among the best defenders in Serie A last season so it’s not surprising how Roma are so desperate to sign him on a permanent basis.
The Englishman has made over 320 appearances in his career for United, winning Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League titles with us during his decorated stay.
