From Boca junior to Barcelona: How Ramos Mingo has won the heart of Koeman to make the squad for Villarreal match
After Araujo, Barca B are ready to provide another promising centre-back.
Santiago Ramos Mingo was surprisingly included in Ronald Koeman's 23-man squad for the debut match against Villarreal.
The 18-year-old earned his call-up after doing greatly in an inter-squad match for Barcelona B, Mundo Deportivo report.
Alfred Schreuder and Koeman happened to had watched the match, and Mingo left a good impression on the assistant coach.
Later on, he started in the reserve's friendly match against Tona and did a good job again, so he was summoned to train with the first team.
Together with Konrad de la Fuente, Santiago was the only Barca B youngster to train with the senior side the entire week.
The Argentine joined Barcelona from Boca Juniors in February 2020 but is yet to make his official debut.
