"I always dreamt of being a forward," Thiago Silva told FIFA's official website 7 years ago.
"I started off as right winger and my passing was good but I didn't have other skills.
"My coaches pushed me further and further back and I ended up in the defence. That's how I found my position."
Silva joined Chelsea on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with PSG.
The Brazilian left the French side after leading them to 23 major trophies in 8 years, including a domestic treble in 2019/20 at the age of 35.
