Eguavoen Takes NFF Job Amunike Rejected

Former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen will now replace Bitrus Bewarang as the Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation.

Nigeria Football Federation’s Sunday Dankaro Secretariat revealed that the Edo state born coach was due in Abuja Monday for documentation after he had agreed on terms and resumption date with the football ruling body

The 1994 AFCON winner was given the job after the NFF’s first choice, Emmanuel Amunike, turned down the offer over monetary terms.

Eguavoen is expected to pocket three million Naira (N3million) monthly as salary – almost double what Bewarang earned while he occupied the office.

“We have offered the Technical Department Director’s job to Austin Eguavoen and this time, we are happy that he accepted the job, as well as our terms and period of the contract. We are expecting him in Abuja on Monday to finalize things and possibly for unveiling

“Eguavoen had the required qualifications to head the department and he proved to be very knowledgeable about the job.
